How to sync Sharepoint folders with Onedrive
Step 1: Go to a folder you want to sync with your computer
As you build your team, you create various channels. Channels represent different projects, topics, or initiatives within your team. Each channel has a Files section where documents and folders for that channel are stored. With OneDrive, we can create a local copy of folders and files from the Files section. All files stored in the Files section of this channel will be visible on the computers of team members, regardless of their location.
In this example, I am creating a local copy of the General channel from my DWP-PS-Offshore team.
Step 2: Open the folder in SharePoint
To access the synchronization tool we need, we must open the Files section in SharePoint, the big brother of Teams. Navigate to the Files section of the channel and click on the Open in SharePoint link. This will open a webpage (you may need to sign in to Office365) displaying the Files section of the channel in SharePoint. Locate and click on the Sync icon on the SharePoint page toolbar.
Step 3: Sync the folder in OneDrive
When you click Sync, a permission window will appear asking you to confirm that you want to use OneDrive to perform the synchronization. Once confirmed, synchronization will begin, and you can ignore the pop-up window confirming that synchronization has started.
Note: Depending on the amount of data to be synced, the process may take several minutes.
Step 4: Your data is now available on your local computer
To see which files are being synced or have been synced, you can open this folder by right-clicking (Windows) on the OneDrive client near the clock in the lower-right corner.
